The punk/hardcore/metal quartet Utflod has been called “Bergen’s angriest band”, and with good reason. The band, whose name translates to “discharge”, founded it’s first line-up on a dark Autumn night in 2018, and after lurking in the underground a few years, 2022 saw them emerge from the shadows, something that didn’t go unnoticed by the music press and bookers – or even our national TV broadcaster, NRK! After two well-received EPs, they decided to make an album. But as they started to stir in the cauldron, something profound happened. Suddenly, as the year was at it’s darkest, singer Oda found herself pregnant! The bewilderment was short, though – they quickly decided to take a break from concerts and focus on the album. So while Oda did the most brutal and ‘metal’ thing a human can do, giving birth and taking maternity leave, the rest of the band worked on their second offspring; Efterdønn!
Efterdønn takes you along for a stormy horseback ride, while you scream your lungs out. The album has underlying themes of reflections and experiences regarding the more savage aspects of humanity. From the cradle to the grave. From the pitch black to the most beautiful. The album contains 14 fast and angry song explosions, guaranteed to make an impact on listeners – this is not to be missed!
